Dr. James R. Pace Jr., FAGD
Dr. James R. Pace Jr. graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and received the Andy Holt Scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. At the College of Dentistry, James graduated with high honors and received both the American Academy of Oral Medicine award for excellence and the American Academy of Periodontology award for excellence. He was selected to memberships in the Dean’s Odontological Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon for scholastic and professional excellence. Dr. Pace completed the 25th annual Georgia Health Science University/American Academy of Implant Dentistry maxi-Course Comprehensive Training Program in Implant
Dentistry. The internationally renowned ten-month program consists of more than 360
classroom and clinical hours of training related to the discipline of implant dentistry. At
completion Dr. Pace successfully passed the AAID (American Academy of Implant
Dentistry) comprehensive examination, an integral components to achieving Fellow
status in the highly regarded dental implant society.
Dr. James R. Pace Jr. was named the 2011 Tennessee Dental Association’s Ace
Award recipient. The award is given annually to the dentist in the state of Tennessee
with the most continuing education hours for the calendar year. Dr. James R. Pace Jr.,
earned 438 approved hours of continuing education in 2011 alone.
In June of 2014 Dr. Pace Jr. was awarded the honor of Fellowship in the
Academy of General Dentistry, given to a dentist who obtains high levels of continuing
education and passes the credentialing exam covering all aspects of dentistry. He is
currently working on his goals of mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry as
well as achieving accreditation in the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and becoming a
fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Pace Jr. is currently on the Nashville Dental Society Board of Trustees and
serves as the chair of the Nashville Dental Society Council on Dental Education,
Practice, Health, and Communication. He volunteers his time with the Interfaith Dental
Clinic, Hope Smiles Ministry, dental missions abroad, the Nashville Rescue Mission, and
Nashville’s Men of Valor Ministry. Aside from dentistry Dr. Pace Jr. enjoys his church,
college football, going to the gym, fishing, hiking, exploring great cities and new places
to eat in Nashville.
Professional Memberships include the American Dental Association, the
Tennessee Dental Association, the Nashville Dental Society, the Academy of General
Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, DOCS Education for sedation
dentistry, and he is affiliated with the Spear Institute, one of the nations leading
providers of clinical expertise. Dr. Pace Jr. pursues continuing education to provide his
patients with the most up to date and highest levels of general and cosmetic dental
care. Learning about the science of oral health is a passion and a desire to improve
daily and provide patients with high levels of care and the best treatment outcomes
keep him excited about the profession. Dr. Pace Jr. is excited to serve the Nashville
community both in and out of the office and looks forward to providing outstanding oral
healthcare to Nashvillians for years to come.
